Chris Waters VCard

Since the early 1990’s Chris has developed networks for the new breed of telecommunications carriers as well working and liaising with incumbent carrier networks in many different countries.

Chris’s network development experience included initially the design and installation of private broadband metropolitan networks in Germany (Frankfurt), and France (Paris) for the private US Company Metropolitan Fibre Systems (MFS). The network developments included all aspects of backbone fibre installation, technical facilities (network hubs) and customer premises POPs and connections to customers.

Through merger and acquisition, the European network role out extended into Asia, where Chris was responsible for the network component of the Business Case development for a proposed Pan Island Network in Singapore as well as the delivery of WorldCom’s first Singaporean network hub back in 1997.

Chris has experience of various business models and structures and has worked in many different cultures and business environments. This experience has created an in depth understanding of the efficient delivery of telecommunications infrastructure. Chris has been responsible for this infrastructure delivery for numerous “start up” networks through Europe, Asia and Australia, including all the logistical and human resources aspects as well as the network engineering and design.

Chris arrived in Australia in January 1998 taking on the network role out for WorldCom, commencing with the Sydney switch facility (3000m²), the Melbourne switch facility (4500m²) and metropolitan network and POPs and the Australian frame relay and hosting joint facilities for WorldCom and UUNET

culminating in the design and implementation of the WorldCom facility network planned and preventative network maintenance programme for 117 Australian sites.

During this time, Chris has also completed works for other carrier facilities in Australia and subsequently created Radius Management in April 2002.
Radius Management already boasts an impressive list of customers and completed projects.

Peter Hall

Peter Hall VCard

Working within the Telecommunications industry since 1986 Peter has developed a detailed understanding of Mission Critical infrastructure both from the Operations and Engineering perspectives.

Peter's Operational experience started at British Telecom International managing the critical infrastructure such as HV, LV, Emergency Generators, UPS and DC plant at numerous central London exchanges.

Peter joined MK International London in 1997 and designed and Project Managed numerous projects for the telecommunications carriers MFS, MCI and MCI WorldCom. Due to the pace of the Telecommunications industry at the time these projects needed to be delivered within very short timeframes.

Projects ranged from engineering systems upgrades such as new static, rotary UPS installations and DC systems installations to the conversion of office space into Switching, Transmission and Colocation rooms.

Peter's final project in London was the construction management of the largest MCI WorldCom Data Centre in London, a Data Centre of over 10,000m².

Peter arrived in Australia in July 1999 taking on the management of new Colocation rooms for MCI WorldCom and UUNET. These included the continued expansion of the existing Sydney Data Centre, new Colocation and Transmission areas totaling 1,500m2, new Emergency Power Generators and main switchboard expansions. All of these projects were completed on a ‘live’ Data Centre without operational interruption. The UUNet Data Centre of 550m2 was completed and handed over to the client within 8 weeks.

Peter moved to Singapore to build a new Voice switch facility for MCI WorldCom and begin the initial design work for MCI WorldCom’s new Singapore Data Centre.

Upon returning to Australia, Peter accepted the role of MCI Facilities Manager Australia and New Zealand responsible for the planned and preventative maintenance of over 150 sites.

Peter was responsible for the introduction of the comprehensive planned and preventative maintenance program for all of MCI’s critical network elements. The production of this maintenance program was designed to provide high reliability and at the same time to have as little operational impact as possible.

Peter’s portfolio included the management of both Sydney and Melbourne metropolitan fibre networks and incident management in the event of fibre damage.

Peter joined Radius Management in June 2007 and has successfully complete a number of projects including a Data Centre refresh which included a new UPS system, switchboards, DC plant upgrade and multiple CRAC units.
